October Release Highlights

October Release Highlights

Many minor updates and fixes across the board but a few noteworthy changes related to the following services: Batch Geocoder API, Routing API, Fleet Telematics API, Fleet Telematics Route Matching, and the Mobile SDKs for Android and iOS.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Add time dependent restrictions to response attributes from Routing API requests.
  • Updates to the HERE Mobile SDK with beta support of Environmental zone exclusions.
  • Launch of Fleet Telematics API. The Fleet Telematics API gives access through just one service endpoint to all features and functions that were previously accessible through the separate Fleet Telematics Services (except Fleet Connectivity API).  Learn more in Denise Vlaicu's post Platform Extensions are getting a makeover with the Fleet Telematics API.

Batch Geocoder API

Send up to a million lines of address information for geocoding in batch process.

Version 6.2.58

  • Additional map reference fields are now available for results.

Routing API

Provide precise instructions to a destination using various transport modes (e.g., car, truck, public transit, bicycle) and leveraging different algorithms (e.g., matrix, isoline routing).

Version 7.2.97

  • Option timeDependentRestriction added to attribute types in linkAttributes parameter of a response.

Fleet Telematics API

Get access to advanced location algorithms for fleet management use cases like geofencing, route matching, toll costs and more.

Version 1.0.0

  • Initial Release.

Fleet Telematics Route Matching

Match the GPS traces to the HERE road network to get the most probable routes for your vehicles, and detect illegal maneuvers.

Version 2.5.9

  • RME can now also return custom layer geometries in the response (in addition to map layers): &customAttributes=layer(attributes)

HERE Android SDK

Starter Edition version 3.9

  • This version of the SDK has been updated to work with Android 9.0.

Premium Edition version 3.9

  • Added support for Android 9.0.
  • Enhanced routing options to exclude specified routing zones (such as environmental zones) from the calculated route as a Beta feature.
  • Added option to periodically retrieve and display alternative routes during guidance.
  • Scooter routing will now take scooter-only roads into account.
  • Enhanced LaneInformation APIs to identify the lane direction which corresponds with the next maneuver on the route.
  • Added support for patterned polylines, polygons and circles.
  • Added an option to suppress streets where the map does not provide a name, from Reverse Geocoder results.
  • Offline routing no longer works with on demand map data downloads. Starting with this release, map data must be downloaded or prefetched beforehand for offline routing to work properly.
  • To ensure Turn-by-Turn navigation works in offline mode or area that has poor network connection, map data that covers the route should be first prefetched or downloaded via map loader.

HERE iOS SDK

Starter Edition version 3.9

  • This version of the SDK has been updated to work with iOS 12 and Xcode 10.
  • The HERE SDK now supports Swift 4.2.

Premium Edition version 3.9

  • This release fully supports iOS 12 and Xcode 10.
  • The HERE SDK now supports Swift 4.2.
  • Added option to periodically retrieve and display alternative routes during guidance.
  • Scooter routing will now take into account scooter-only roads.
  • Enhanced NMALaneInformation APIs to identify the lane direction which corresponds with the next maneuver on the route.
  • Added support for patterned polylines, polygons and circles.
  • Added an option to suppress streets where the map does not provide a name, from Reverse Geocoder results.
  • Added option to enable/disable kinetic effects for specific gestures such as pinch zoom.
