Custom Location Extension API Developer's Guide

Uploading Map Objects

To upload shapes and Points of Interests (POIs) via the Custom Location Extension API, you can do one of the following:
  • Use an HTTP POST request with geometries in Wellknown Text (WKT) or Shapefile formats.
  • Use an HTTP GET request to import geometries WKT geometries.
  • Use the Administration Website to upload locations as CSV files or Shapefile standard-compliant shapes.
Geometries are imported into layers and a layer can ontain only one geometry type – polygons, polylines, or points; but not a mix of different types. Once you receive a response from the service, expect a delay of several seconds for the server to compile, store, and make the geometries available in the service.
