The Land Cover layer publishes cartographic content related to the physical coverage of the Earth and includes information like woodland, wetlands, grassland, desert, or glacier. The Land Cover content is relatively static and is provided as polygonal information. Examples: woodland, grassland, desert, glacier.


Type of content included Description
Geometry Geometry of the Land Cover represented as polygonal information. Some Land Cover could be represented as polyline geometry.
Object ID of the cartographic object (polygonal object) is the primary map object identifier.
Name Name(s) applicable to the Land Cover.
Attribution Attribution applicable to the Land Cover, like classification, display class. Possibly a Label Point is included for Land Cover.
