Geovisualization Developer's Guide


Geovisualization users can be assigned one of three 'roles' that determine the rights or 'permissions' they have when performing Geovisualization REST API actions on resources such as datasets, queries and layers. For each resource a specified user can have up to one role.

The three roles are:

  • OWNER: the user who creates a dataset, query or layer. Only owners can delete resources. Owners can assign any role to other users.
  • AUTHOR: can read and write to (but not delete) existing resources. Authors can assign the READER role to their permitted resources.
  • READER: can create queries on their permitted datasets and retrieve data through their permitted queries.

Error Responses

If the user does not have any permissions to access a resource, the response is 404.

You cannot use this account to purchase a commercial plan on Developer Portal, as it is already associated to plans with different payment methods.
