Conditional Attributes
The conditional attributes in HERE Lanes can have additional characteristics beyond those of other attributes. For example, conditional attributes can be used to limit other attributes to specific days/times or a subset of vehicle types.
- Date-Time Modifiers
- Access Characteristics
- Lane Direction of Travel Condition
- Lane Access Restriction Condition
- Lane Transport Access Restriction
- Lane-Level Toll Structure
- Carpool (HOV) Lanes
Date-Time Modifiers
Format Reference: Date-Time Modifiers (Condition)
A Condition can have any number of Date-Time Modifiers indicating the temporal periods at which the Condition applies. (Not all Conditions can bear Date-Time Modifiers, but most do. For example, a speed bump, coded as Traffic Calming Measures on Conditional Speed Situation, is applicable at all dates and times.)
Most typical Conditions are applied to specific days of the week (e.g., Monday through Friday), but can also be applied to other situations such as "First Monday of every month," "Every August," "First day of the month" and similar temporal ranges. There can even be an indication that the restriction is "approximately seasonal."
Date-Time modifiers can also indicate specific times of day (e.g. "5:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M."), or approximate times of day such as "dusk to dawn" and "dawn to dusk."
Access Characteristics
Format Reference: Access Characteristics (Condition)
Any Condition can have Access Characteristics to indicate the types of traffic to which the Condition applies. This can be a subset of the Access Characteristics of the underlying Link in situations where the Condition does not apply to all traffic types. The list of traffic types is the same as with Access Characteristics attribute for Links, which are true/false values.
Values (boolean):
- Autos
- Buses
- Carpools (High-Occupancy Vehicles)
- Deliveries
- Emergency Vehicles
- Motorcycles
- Pedestrians
- Taxis
- Through Traffic
- Trucks
- Bicycles
Lane Direction of Travel Condition
Format Reference: Lane Direction of Travel Condition
The Lane Direction of Travel Condition describes the direction of travel on a lane for specific time periods defined by Date-Time Modifiers and/or specific Access Characteristics. The Lane Direction of Travel Condition overrides the Direction of Travel attribute on the lane.
Lane Access Restriction Condition
Format Reference: Lane Access Restriction Condition
The Lane Access Restriction condition identifies situations where specified types of access characteristics are prohibited from traveling on the road at specific times. Lane Access Restriction is included only when there are Access Characteristics restrictions applicable to a subset of the lanes of a link, and date/time modifiers are present. (Full-time Lane Access Restrictions are managed by the Lane Access Characteristics attribute.)
Lane Transport Access Restriction
Topology Reference Type: Lane Parametric Range
Format Reference: Lane Transport Access Restriction Condition
The Lane Transport Access Restriction Condition is applicable to any vehicle type that is large enough to meet restrictions (trucks, non-city buses) limiting Weight, Weight per Axle(s) and Length that apply to a lane.
The following conditions are supported:
- Conditional Access Restriction (Road Users, Date-Time Modifier, Dependent Access Type)
- Weather Type
- Physical Structure Type
- Hazardous Material Type
- Truck Type Restriction
- Transport Restriction
Lane-Level Toll Structure
Format Reference: Lane-Level Toll Structure
Lane-Level Toll Structure identifies the presence of physical toll structures or automatic controls at entry and exit points along a toll road that require payment or ticket retrieval for passage. This Condition also identifies (per lane) the Toll Structure Type and the Method of Payment.
Specifically, the Lane-Level Toll Structure condition identifies lanes that have a different condition than the road attribute. This includes the presence of physical toll structures at any locations (except ferry terminals), and automatic controls at entry and exit points along a toll road, that require payment or ticket retrieval for passage, per lane.
Values (Toll Structure Type):
- Fixed Fee
- Obtain Ticket
- Pay per Ticket
- Electronic
Values (Method of Payment):
- Cash
- Exact cash
- Bank card
- Credit card
- Pass/Subscription
- Transponder
- Video Toll Charge
- Travel Card
Carpool (HOV) Lanes
Topology Reference Type: Lane Parametric Range
Format Reference: Carpool (HOV) Lanes
Carpool (HOV) lanes are supported. Specifically, the following parameters are supported for carpool lanes:
- Hybrids (boolean)
- Alternate Fuel Vehicles (boolean)
- Fee (boolean)
- Minimum Passenger Count
