U-Turn Regulation describes Admin-wide U-Turn regulations in conjunction with RDMs (Restricted Driving Manoeuvres) and PDMs (Permitted Driving Manoeuvres).
U-Turn Regulation is used to efficiently apply or determine the predominant U-turn regulation in an Administrative Area as opposed to individually applying RDMs or PDMs individually at each intersection. It enables pre-trip planning by providing U-turn regulations based on the calculated route.
U-Turn Regulationis applied as follows:
- Always Legal Unless Prohibited by RDM - if U-turn manoeuvres are allowed in the entire Administrative Area except at intersections where it is signposted to be prohibited or where there are barriers prohibiting the manoeuvre.
- Always Illegal Unless Allowed by PDM - if U-turn manoeuvres are restricted in the entire Administrative Area except at intersections where it is signposted to be allowed.
- U-Turn Restriction Unknown - where the U-Turn regulation is still unknown or where it is not applicable.
