Short Construction Warning

Definition

Short Construction Warning identifies navigable road segments anticipated to open in the coming three months, but are currently closed for construction. These roads do not publish the Construction Status Condition.

Usage

Short Construction Warning condition can be used for map display and route guidance.

Based on the Short Construction Warning coding, the end-user can be prepared for the upcoming opening of a new road situation. Short Construction Warning can be used to provide warnings to the end-user when approaching a road situation which opens soon. The duration of such warnings can be dynamic based on the anticipated End Date of the Short Construction Warning condition.

Note: The Short Construction Warning coding can enable the end-user to be prepared for an upcoming opening of a new road situation.

Note: The Short Construction Warning coding aims Rapid Refresh customers with higher frequency of releasing map data, and shorter cycles. In such high freshness scenarios, it is important to have up-to-date information regarding road construction plans.

Note: The removal of Short Construction Warning coding happens only when HERE has confirmed the road has opened.

Specification

Short Construction Warning condition is generally applied for the following situations:
- When a road is closed for construction for three months or less
- When Construction Status Closed condition is removed from a road

When a road construction ends earlier than anticipated, it is possible that the removal of Construction Status Closed condition coding is not followed by Short Construction Warning coding.
Short Construction Warning condition is applied for all road segments that used to be coded with Construction Status Closed.
- Construction Status Closed condition is removed three (3) months prior to the anticipated end date of the construction. The map data represents the correct navigable network with all attribution when the Construction Status Closed condition is removed. This implies that the map is prepared for the upcoming opening of roads under construction (3) three months prior to the actual opening date.
  
  Example: A new road opening on October 1st will have Construction Status Closed coding removed from the HERE map around July 1st, that is three (3) months prior to the anticipated opening time.
Short Construction Warning condition is applied in the three (3) months transition period when Construction Status Closed condition is removed and the road is not yet open in reality.
Short Construction Warning condition is applicable to all vehicle types.
Short Construction Warning condition is removed from the HERE Map just before the actual opening time of the road. It is anticipated that removal of Short Construction Warning happens in the week before the actual opening of the road. The removal of Short Construction Warning, coding happens only when HERE has confirmed the road has opened.
Short Construction Warning condition has Date - Time information, which indicates the anticipated opening date of the road. In Rapid Refresh deliverables the End Date can change based on most recent information on opening plans.
