Get Started

As an app developer, you can use location services hosted by the HERE Open Location Platform (OLP) as the basis for your custom services with custom business logic to power your applications.

For example, a car manufacturer may have a dataset with information on licensed charging stations for electric vehicles across Europe. Instead of using HERE-provided charging station data, the manufacturer can use the Open Search
location service for finding charging stations with the correct plug type along the route.

To connect to an OLP location service and start using it, follow these steps:

  1. Get your credentials.
  2. Get an access token.
  3. Look up a service.
  4. Call location service API.
  5. Build your Java API client app.
