Events

An event is created every time an associated rule or a geofence is triggered by a device ingestion.

A geofence event is created every time a device enters or exits an associated geofence.

A sensor event is created when the reported sensor data triggers one of the sensor rules. The battery, humidity, pressure and temperature sensor rules generate events when the reported sensor reading goes in or out of the allowed range. The acceleration sensor rule generates an event when the reported acceleration sensor reading crosses the acceleration threshold. The attach sensor rule generates an event when the device gets attached and detached. And the tamper sensor rule generates an event when the device cover is opened and closed.

A rule event is created when the reported device behaviour triggers one of the rules. A dwelling event is generated when the device has dwelled inside an associated geofence for longer than allowed. A detention event is generated when the device has been stationary for longer than allowed, regardless whether the device is inside or outside of any geofence. A utilization event is generated when the device starts moving after having been stationary. A stock event is generated when the number of devices in a geofence crosses one of the defined stock limits. An offline event is generated when the device is late in sending its next planned ingestion and an online event is generated when the device starts ingesting data again. A shipment schedule event is generated when a shipment deviates from the specified shipment schedule.

Events are managed via the events endpoint.
