An event is created every time an associated rule or geofence is triggered by a device ingestion. These events are stored in the events log.
A geofence event is created every time a device enters or exits an associated geofence.
A sensor event is created when reported sensor data breaks one of sensor rule conditions. For battery, humidity, pressure and temperature sensor rules the event is generated when the reported sensor reading goes in or out of the allowed range. Acceleration sensor rule generates events whenever the reported acceleration sensor reading crosses the acceleration threshold. When attach sensor rule is associated to the device, an event is generated when the device gets attached and detached. For tamper sensor rule, the the event is generated when the device cover is opened and closed.
Dwelling event will be generated when the device has dwelled inside an associated geofence for longer than allowed. Detention event is generated when the device has been stationary for longer than allowed regardless whether the device is inside or outside any geofence. Utilization event is generated when the device starts moving. Stock events are generated when the number of devices in the assigned geofence crosses one of the stock limits. Offline event is genrated if the device is late from its planned ingestion schedule and online event when it then comes back online. Dwelling, detention, utilization, stock and online rules are managed through rules.
