Traffic API Developer's Guide

Bounding Box Filter

The user wants to obtain traffic flow data for an area near Indianapolis, IN, USA. The area is a rectangle defined by the latitude and longitude of its top-left and bottom-right corners.

The query parameter bbox defines the latitudes and longitudes of the top left and bottom right corners of the bounding box. The optional query parameter responseattributes requests that the response include additional information on the shape and the functional class of the roadway corresponding to the flow items.
Note: For information about how to apply filters on the response to exclude flow information for roads matching a particular functional class, see Traffic Flow Data with Max Functional Class Filter.

The response to the request contains:
  • FI: traffic flow item with flow information about the area specified in the response and the related current flow, including details about the shape and the functional class of the related roadway
Note: The response uses TMC references to provide the flow information.
