This documentation refers to HERE Data SDK for Python V1.X versions. A new HERE Data SDK for Python V2.0 is now available, please refer to the new SDK for Python Developer Guide for more information and installation instructions.

Introduction

The Data SDK for Python allows Python developers to use familiar libraries, frameworks, and engineering tools when working with the platform data and services. It allows for exploration, analysis, and visualization of HERE data in your own environment as well as the ability to publish back results.

The Data SDK for Python contains:

  1. Data SDK for Python - Analytics: Provides a full environment enabling exploration, analysis, and visualization of the platform data and services including Jupyter notebooks and Python.

    For installation, first complete the Credentials Setup and then follow instructions given in Data SDK for Python - Analytics.

    Note

    You do not need to additionally install Data SDK for Python - Core as this is already included as part of Data SDK for Python - Analytics installation.

  2. Data SDK for Python - Core: Provides a library to interact with the platform data and services within your Python applications. This is for those who do not require additional Jupyter notebook support.

    For installation, first complete the Credentials Setup and then follow instructions given in Data SDK for Python - Core

  3. HERE MLflow Plugin: This optional plugin allows you to manage Machine Learning (ML) experiments on the platform and share with others, or make it available on the HERE Marketplace.

    For installation, first complete the Credentials Setup and then follow instructions given in HERE MLflow Plugin

  4. Data SDK for Python with Spark (DEPRECATED): This optional install enables Spark job execution using the platform services. Its installation and configuration is optional for users seeking to use advanced distributed computing.

    For installation, first install Data SDK for Python - Analytics and then follow instructions given in Data SDK for Python with Spark (DEPRECATED)

    Note

    Data SDK for Python with Spark is DEPRECATED and no longer actively supported. Alternate support for Python based distributed processing will be added in a future release.

Build Your Own Docker

To build a docker image for these SDKs, first complete the Credentials Setup then follow instructions given in Build Your Own Docker.

Supported Operating Systems

The SDK and this installation guide currently supports Windows, MacOS and Linux distributions.
