Custom Location Extension API Developer's Guide

Uploading Shapes and POIs

To upload shapes and Points of Interests (POIs) via the Custom Location Extension API, you can do one of the following:
  • Use an HTTP POST request with geometries in Wellknown Text (WKT) or Shapefile formats.
  • Use an HTTP GET request to import geometries WKT geometries.
  • Use the Administration Website to upload locations as CSV files or Shapefile standard-compliant shapes.
Geometries are imported into layers and a layer can ontain only one geometry type – polygons, polylines, or points; but not a mix of different types. Once you receive a respons from the service, expect a delay of several seconds for the server to compile, store, and make the geometries available in the service.
