Map Image API Developer's Guide

Complete URL Encoding

Complete URL encoding truncates and obfuscates a defined map request into a single base64 encoded string. The map definition consists of a position parameters latitude (lat) and longitude (lon) with an optionally defined radius (r). The radius defines the area shown on the map, and implicitly defines a zoom level z=. The zoom level will default to z=10 if the radius is left undefined.

The allowable precision for input parameters should meet the following requirements:

  • The latitude ranges from -90.0 to +90.0 degrees.
  • The longitude ranges from -180.0 to +180.0 degrees.
  • The radius ranges from one micrometre to a million kilometres.
