Routing API Developer's Guide

Requesting a Truck Route

To calculate directions for trucks between two locations using the calculateroute service, include in the request:

  • your authentication credentials, app_id and app_code (see Acquiring Credentials)
  • the start (waypoint0) and destination (waypoint1 in case of no intermediate location) waypoints
  • fastest;truck for routing mode and indication whether to optimize the routing for traffic conditions or not
  • and truck profile parameters (see Truck Profile)

This example requests a route for a truck that weighs 30.5 tons, is 4.25 meters high and has a cargo that is harmful to water. The route uses a speed profile for heavy trucks and is not optimized for current traffic conditions. Waypoints are specified by latitude and longitude using the geo! string value.
