Public Transit API Developer's Guide

Transit Isoline

Transit Isoline is used for providing a catchment area (isoline) around an input origin indicating the area that can be reached within a particular travel time, for a specific day of the week. This resulting polygon can then be rendered on a map, used for geospatial analysis, or to enable more specific search requests within a client implementation. The example below shows an Isochrone Search, and the following mandatory parameters are required in the request:

  • your authentication credentials, app_id and app_code (see Acquiring Credentials for more details)
  • location coordinates from where to search isoline frontiers
  • time to start traveling

The example below requests the data for Transit Isoline.

By default, the following information will be returned:

  • A list of destinations (station IDs)
  • Each destination will contain the following details:
    • Duration
    • Station specific attributes:
      • Station ID
      • Name of the station
      • Station coordinates

You can further refine the results by submitting the requests with these optional parameters:

  • prod parameter defines which transit types are to be included in the response. See Transit Modes for more details on how this parameter is used
  • max_change parameter defines the maximum number of transfers

For a complete set of these parameters see Transit Isoline.
