Public Transit API Developer's Guide

Line Info

Line Info is used for requesting information about transit lines going through a certin station. The example below shows the line info search for a given station ID, along with the mandatory parameters required in the request:

  • your authentication credentials, app_id and app_code (see Acquiring Credentials for more details)
  • Stop ID

The example below requests line information for Qunicy/Wells station in Chicago (stop ID 418811205).

https://cit.transit.api.here.com/lines/v1/by_stopid
?app_id={YOUR_APP_ID}
&app_code={YOUR_APP_CODE}
&stop_id=418811205

By default, the following information will be returned:

  • A maximum of 10 lines going through the station will be listed by default. The number of lines returned can be restricted by the max parameter in the request.
  • Each line info will include the information about the line properties and line segments (see LineInfo for more details):
    • Name, direction and transit mode of the line.
    • List of segment ids of the main and all segments of the line.

You can further refine the route results by submitting the requests with these optional parameters:

  • name parameter specifies a name of the line serving the given station.
  • prod parameter defines which transit types are to be included in the response. See Transit Modes for more details on how this parameter is used.

For a complete set of these parameters see Line Info.
