Public Transit API Developer's Guide

All Next Departures

All Next Departures is used for showing departure information from stations around a given location. To make a request for multiple next departures, the following mandatory parameters are required:

  • your authentication credentials, app_id and app_code (see Acquiring Credentials for more details)
  • the coordinates of interest
  • and time of the request.

The example below requests departure information for all transits departing from and around a specified location, departing after a specified time.

https://cit.transit.api.here.com/metarouter/rest/boardservice/v1/multiboard/by_geocoord
?app_id={YOUR_APP_ID}
&app_code={YOUR_APP_CODE}
&startX=-0.135175
&startY=51.510122
&time=2017-04-11T08:00:00

By default, the following information will be returned:

  • A maximum of 40 departures per station will be shown for all nearby stations. The number of stations in the response will depend on the proximity of the nearby stations to a given location, within the default radius of 500m. The number of departures and the number of stations returned can be restricted by the max and max_stn parameters respectively in the request.
  • Each departure board will contain the following details:
    • Departure time
    • Name and ID of the transit stop/station the service departs from
    • Name and number of transit service
    • Type of the transit service
    • Direction or Head-sign of the service
    • Optionally, line color of the service line.

You can further refine the route results by submitting the requests with these optional parameters:

  • radius parameter specifies a radius in meters that when combined with a centerpoint defines the area of the search
  • max_stn specifies the maximum number of stations for which departures are required
  • max specifies the maximum number of next departures per station to be included in the response
  • prod parameter defines which transit types are to be included in the response. See Transit Modes for more details on how this parameter is used

For a complete set of these parameters see All Next Departures.
