Geo-visualization Developer's Guide

Loading the Starter Pack

Geo-visualization comes with a 'starter pack' of sample datasets and queries which you can use to practise creating visualizations. This section describes how to load the starter pack into your Geo-visualization library. For details about each of the sample datasets available, see Sample Datasets.

Fastpath: Some of the sample datasets are visualized in Geo-visualization code examples. These include all the code needed to create the visualizations, which you can copy and use as the basis for your own apps.

To load the starter pack, send an authenticated POST, with an empty request body, to the following Geo-visualization REST API resource:{YOUR_APP_ID}&app_code={YOUR_APP_CODE}

You can also use the starterpack endpoint in the 02. Starter Pack folder of our Postman collection.

The response is a JSON object that lists the IDs of all the sample datasets and sample queries added to your library from the starter pack:

  "kind": "datalens#starterpack",
  "datasets": [
  "request_id": "2d542161-6f0f-4107-c108-78209134b6de",
  "queries": [
Note: If any of the starter pack sample datasets or queries are already in your library, they will not be re-loaded.
